Why won't my Bluetooth controls work the Earworms App?

We are aware of an issue on some devices, a new update will be released in a day or so to rectify this.

Please accept our apologies for this inconvenience.

You can use most bluetooth devices e.g. bluetooth headphone buttons, to control the app player.


If your device seems to be giving you the cold shoulder, just give us a shout!

Our 'Contact Us' link is in the App menu, don't forget to confirm the make and model of your Bluetooth device, and we'll see if we can sort things out for you.

How do I restore my previously purchased Earworms App courses to a new or additional device?

If you want to restore your Earworms app courses to a new or additional device simply click ‘Restore' in the menu.

All App purchases & promotional codes redeemed from 2019 will be restored providing you are on the same platform and have the same user ID.


N.B. the older App format (pre 2019) is no longer supported. If you have his version, please contact our support desk:


  • iOS Menu > Support > Contact Us we will provide a complimentary code to redeem in the App or Play stores.
  • Android Menu > Contact Us



I purchased an audiobook from iTunes / Audible / another third party, can I restore it in the Earworms App?

For technical and legal reasons audio books purchased from 3rd parties cannot be restored automatically in the app. However, if you can provide the receipt or evidence of purchase and the purchase was paid and not part of a refundable subscription, we shall provide you with a code to redeem the course in the App or Play Stores.

How do I redeem an Earworms App code to restore a previous purchase?

Complimentary codes are redeemed in the App / Play Store, not in the Earworms app itself.


App Store instructions

 

  • ‘Copy’ the code in the email from Earworms Support
  • Open the App Store App
  • Tap ‘My account’ icon (top right blue head/body icon)
  • Tap ‘Redeem Gift Card or Code’ and paste in your code and 'redeem'
  • Open the Earworms App, tap ‘Restore previous purchases’ (orange button, bottom of many pages)
  • Your course will appear in ‘My Earworms Courses’
  • If your code is for a bundle product or you redeem more than 1 code & not all courses appear straight away, try tapping ‘Restore previous purchases’ again

If you ever delete the app and later re-install, tap  ‘Restore previous purchases’ to restore all your courses. Likewise if you have another Apple device with the same Apple ID, tap this button to restore purchases.


Play Store instructions 

 

  • ‘Copy’ the code in the email from Earworms Support
  • Open the Play Store App
  • Tap open your Profile (top right, or left)
  • Tap ‘Payments & Subscriptions’ > Redeem Gift Code and ‘Paste’ in your code and redeem
  • Open the Earworms App: Tap  Menu > Restore 
  • Your course(s) will appear in ‘Languages' > download all tracks and phrasebook


If you delete the app and later re-install it, ‘Restore’ will return all your courses.

Likewise if you have another Android device with the same Play Store ID, click 'Restore' in the menu

I can’t see the karaoke text scrolling.

Occasionally this glitch happens with newly published courses or where a bundled course for say levels 1 and 2 together has been withdrawn to make way for a trio bundle levels 1-3.  It is easily remedied if you contact us and let us know the language and level you are experiencing problems with

 

Help! My earworms App crashes when I open it.

With so many different devices, makes, models, and ever-changing iOS and Android versions there is a small chance that a technical glitch can get through - it happens even to the best App developers. And we do understand how annoying this is.

 

However we would like to ask you to give us the opportunity to fix the problem before writing a bad review. It could be something simple like the App has been updated and you’re running an old version. 

 

Before contacting us, check to see if an update is available: 


  • Open the App Store or Play Store App
  • Search ‘Earworms’
  • Tap ‘Update’ if you see it

 

If you see ‘Open’ you have the latest version. Please return to the Earworms App, and use the contact us link in the menu for support. Rest assured if we can’t help you immediately, we will report the issue to our developer, and they will produce a fix ASAP.

 

If you are the first to report a bug, we will even reward you with a complementary code for a new course. We are committed to regularly updating our App and we are only an email away.

Why do I have to keep re-downloading my Earworms tracks on my Android device?

Assuming your device has enough space, you probably need to enable storage permissions for the Earworms App.

How do I enable storage permissions in system settings?

  • On your Android device, go to 'settings'
  • Tap Apps and again Apps 
  • Scroll down to the Earworms app and tap 'Permissions'
  • Slide the 'Storage' slider to the on position


Why do my Earworms tracks stop playing after several minutes?

If the Earworms App stops playing the issue is most likely a setting or preference on your device. Perhaps your device is set to prevent apps playing in the background, or perhaps you have a battery optimisation setting that conserves energy by putting apps to sleep after say 10 minutes.

Try searching the Internet 

  • How to allow Android or iOS apps to run in the background?
  • How to turn off battery optimisation on a smart phone?


I don't see any Karaoke type text on my Android Device.

Please update your Earworms App to version 1.0.88 by visiting the Play Store.

If you continue to experience problems, please contact us stating your devices make/model and the Android version you're running.

Thank you to customers that reported this issue with later patches on Android 11. Our developer has fixed the bug. The update will be available very soon.

We've also taken the opportunity to add our course booklets to the app. Once you've updated, the booklet download button will appear after the final track you course.

Lernstufen

Es gibt 3 Lernstufen, die dich bis zur Mittelstufe (CEF-Niveau A2) führen.

* Band 1. Innerhalb weniger Stunden verfügst du über genügend Wortschatz und Vokabeln in einer Sprache, um reale Situationen bewältigen zu können.

* Band 2. Du lernst über dich selbst zu sprechen, dich zu unterhalten und zu flirten.

* Band 3. Es geht noch tiefer rein in die Sprache, ihre Struktur und ihre Grammatik und das Verbessern von Vokabeln und Wortschatz.


HINWEIS: Die App enthält eine Demo mit vollständigen Tracks aller verfügbaren Sprachen und kann kostenlos heruntergeladen werden. Du kannst dann die vollständigen Kurse in der App kaufen.

iOS App review

Add PDF without colored graphics

The app is good, and the speech training courses are great, I love the speakers too (German/Spanish). To save ink when printing I would prefer to have a only text version document with the courses, with at least no coloured graphics in the background. Of course you can color text, that would be fine.

Thanks you for your rating and review. All our foreign language teacher speakers are chosen for their pleasant voices. With earworms you only need to keep listening to be able to recall all the foreign language words, phases, verbs and grammar without any effort. The music is what makes this all possible. Thanks also for your feedback re the text. The phrasebooks are very colourful, more recently published courses are actually in black and white from feedback like your own. Play Store review

Die Idee ist grundsätzlich gut, die Audios von hoher Qualität und man kann ohne Registrierung loslegen. Es gibt pro Sprache 3 Kurse die vielleicht bis Level A2 bringen. Pro Kurs hat man rund 10 Lerneinheiten mit rund 7 Minuten. Zu deutsch, der Umfang ist ziemlich begrenzt und man wird sich nach den 3 Kursen sicher ein wenig im Urlaub verständigen können. Dafür finde ich dann rund 10 Euro pro Kurs zu viel. Dann lieber weniger Sprachen mit mehr Inhalt. Für einen Einstieg aber brauchbar.

Danke fuer Ihre Besprechung. Earworms vermittelt in Alltags- und Urlaubssprache vorrangig die Logik der Sprache, d.h. die grammatikalische Struktur. Vokabeln sind zweitrangig. Das Lehrkonzept geht auf, wenn die Texte als zu leicht befunden werden. Einmal gekauft gehoert dem Kunden das Produkt fuers Leben. Laufende Zahlungen gibt es nicht.

Angenehm für mich, mein Spanisch aufzubauen. Besser, als isoliert Grammatik/Vokabeln zu lernen! Sehr symphatische Stimmen, locker-entspannte Tonlagen und sound-Effekte - ich hoffe, das zieht sich durch. Bin fast süchtig! Super, daß das ganze auch offline funktioniert, so kann man auch im Zug, auf einem Spaziergang die Texte hören, man kann auch wählen, zB 1 od 3 Lektionen in Endlosschleife zu hören. Bin restlos begeistert u kann mich in Spanien schon nach 2 Wochen etwas verständigen.

Amazing app! Such a cool way to learn languages! I love the fact that you don't need to stare at your phone while using the app! You don't even need to hold your phone - I use it while I'm drawing or having a walk for example. I recommend to everyone!

Leicht zu installieren, übersichtliche Menüführung, leicht zu (er) lernende Texte, prima für zwischendurch. Zum auffrischen oder für den Urlaub bestens geeignet.
